This spooky, easy recipe is so much fun to make with your kids. They’re perfect for a party or just as a fun snack. Best of all, they only take a few minutes to put together. Here is what you will need to do to prepare them.

Step 1: Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 4 rectangles. Pinch the two tringles in each rectangle together to form a solid sheet. Cut each rectangle into four slices and roll up each slice to form a finger. Place the fingers on the prepared baking sheet

Step 2: Add the Pepperoni

Cut the pepperoni slices in half, then cut each half into four wedges. Press one pepperoni wedge onto the end of each finger to make a finger nail.

Step 3: Bake the Breadstick Fingers

Bake the breadsticks in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush the breadsticks with melted butter and sprinkle the garlic powder over the top.

How do I serve the Witch’s Fingers Breadsticks?

This fun Halloween appetizer can be served warm or at room temperature. The bread sticks taste great dipped in a marinara sauce or a pizza sauce. They also pair well with cheese sauce or you could even put some Ranch dip on the side.

Another fun idea is to serve them up with pasta for dinner on October 31st…Halloween night. You can make the pasta spooky by adding meatballs with eyes! The way to do this is by cutting cheese into small circles and place 2 on meatballs, then add a piece of  black olive or red bell pepper to the center of each one.

Witch Finger Breadstick Ideas

While these taste delicious as prepared, there are also a variety of ways to change them up!

  • Add cheese: You can add some mozzarella cheese to the center of the dough before rolling them up into fingers to create a stuffed breadstick. Another idea is to sprinkle parmesan cheese on top after brushing them with butter.
  • Use different seasoning: These are very simple as is with just a little garlic powder sprinkled on top. However, you could try poppy seeds, sesame seeds or even red pepper flakes. This will add an even spookier look to the breadstick fingers!
  • Try out different fingernails: Small pieces of pepperoni work great, but there are several other food items that would be fun to try! Black olives, green olives, whole almonds, pieces of red bell pepper or green bell pepper would all work well too. You could even make each finer have a different nail for variety.
  • Use an egg wash: To fancy things up a bit, brush the fingers with an egg wash before baking them. To do this, simply beat one egg with 1 tablespoon of water using a fork. Then, brush the egg wash onto the breadsticks before baking them.
  • Make them pizza dough:  While using Crescent Roll Dough is super easy and convenient, you could also use homemade pizza dough or store-bought pizza dough. It works well, especially if you want to make a large batch of the breadsticks. You can follow the same baking method. To form the fingers with the dough, lightly flour a clean, flat surface.  Then, roll the pizza dough out into a thin layer, so it is easy to roll up. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut dough into rectangles, then roll up into fingers.

So, if you’re looking for a creepy but delicious appetizer to serve at your next Halloween party, look no further than witch’s fingers breadsticks!
