Happy Monday, I hope you had a great weekend! My weekend was a mad flurry of events as I was organizing the family to go on vacation and trying to get in some endurance training. I'm happy to say that I did manage to squeeze everything in. I even found a little time to play around in the kitchen with a new favorite protein powder: Ancient Nutrition's Dr. Axe Multi Collagen Protein Powder. I love this protein powder as it is odorless and flavorless, so it can be added to just about anything! What did I come up with in the blender? A delicious and hunger satisfying Protein Packed Peanut Butter, Banana and Strawberry Smoothie.

Benefits of Protein

If you follow my blog, you already know that I am a huge fan of protein for a variety of reasons! It is essential to get enough protein in your diet to help avoid tissue injury. It aids in exercise recovery as it is necessary for muscle tissue building, repair, and recovery. . It also helps increase muscle mass by stimulating an increase in tissue production, while slowing down any breakdown. In turn, this aids in developing greater muscle mass and lean tissue. Protein is also a macronutrient, which is necessary for the body to function optimally, helping to increase one's overall energy level.

What is Multi Collagen Protein?

Collagen is made from amino acids and comprises 30% of all proteins found in the body. This special protein functions to literally "hold everything together" in our bodies. Dr. Axe Multi Collagen Protein contains five different types of protein from four different sources: bovine, chicken, fish, and eggshell membrane. As I mentioned above, one of my favorite things about this protein powder is that it is flavorless and odorless, so it can be added to anything! It also contains 7 grams of protein and mixes instantly. I love that it comes in capsules, so I can take one as a supplement on days that I do not mix the powder into my morning coffee or smoothie. Dr. Axe Multi Collagen Protein Powder is also available in convenient single serving pouches, which are perfect to take on trips or to work. Now, on to the good stuff: my recipe for a delicious Protein Packed Peanut Butter, Banana and Strawberry Smoothie!
