Exercise Motivation During the Holidays

1. Reassess Your Goals To Suit The Busy Season

Changing up your goals will keep things fresh, and you might be able to cut down the amount you visit the gym to suit whatever else you have going on during the holidays. This is a busy time for everybody, so don't beat yourself up if you can't stick to your regular routine. Even if you visit the gym twice a week during this busy season, it's better than nothing!

2. Treat Yourself To A New Outfit Or Accessory

A new pair of running tights, or even some quality headphones could help you to supercharge your workouts. This may be the right trick to keep you wanting to go to the gym when eggnog and sweet treats are calling your name.

  1. Actually... I don't need much motivation to exercise during the holiday season! My biggest thing is food and I have trouble saying no to treats. I know it's fine to have a treat! That's not my issue! I cannot just have ONE treat. I can't seem to stop myself from OVERindulging. And that creates a real dilemma. I know I also can't out-exercise a bad diet. So it's a vicious circle. My holiday season isn't like many others' though - I don't really do anything special this time of year. So I think I have less stress and less eating out / drinking / parties etc. anyway. Because I'm not running all over to friends and family, then I just naturally want to keep working out on my regular days.
