How do I make this Classic Casserole Recipe?

This casserole recipe could not be any easier to prepare! There are just a few steps needed to make it.

Step 1: Drain Green Beans

Start off by preheating the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, prepare an 8×8 baking dish with cooking spray and set aside. Next, strain the liquid out of the green beans, reserving the liquid from the cans. Add drained green beans to the prepared 8×8 baking dish.

Pro Tip: To drain green beans, place a small strainer over a bowl and pour the cans of green beans into the strainer to easily catch the juice from the beans in the bowl.

Step 2: Combine the Green Beans and Soup

Pour the condensed cream of mushroom soup into a small mixing bowl.  Then, stir in 1/2 cup of the reserved green bean juice. Continue to stir until it is the consistency of thick gravy. Add more of the green bean juice if needed.

Step 4: Bake, Serve and Enjoy!

Time for the oven! Place on the center rack in the oven and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until bubbly, which will take approximately 20-25 minutes. Remove from the oven and top casserole with remaining French fried onions. Then, place back in the oven and continue baking until onions are slightly browned, about 5 more minutes.

  •  To reheat in the oven: Turn oven on to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Place casserole in an oven safe dish and cover with aluminum foil. Heat on center rack until warmed through.
  • To reheat in the microwave: Place casserole in a microwave safe dish. Cover with a paper towel and heat until warmed through. Stir once or twice during microwave time.
