How do I make a butter board with roasted garlic and honey?

Roasted Garlic Directions

Start off by roasting your own garlic to add to the board. There is just nothing like warm garlic roasted in the oven. It is super easy to do, but it does require 40 minutes to make it, then 20 minutes to cool.

Step 1: Prepare the garlic

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep the garlic bulbs whole and cut 1/2 inch off the top of the garlic bulb so the cloves are exposed. Place the garlic bulbs on aluminum foil and drizzle the olive oil on the exposed garlic cloves. Then, tightly wrap the aluminum foil around the garlic.

Step 2: Roast the garlic

Place the foil wrapped garlic bulbs in the oven directly on the center oven rack and bake for 40 minutes, or until the garlic cloves are lightly golden brown. Check them and make sure they feel soft when squeezed to make sure they are done. Larger garlic bulbs may take a little more time.

Step 3: Cool the garlic

Remove from the oven and allow the garlic to cool for at least 20 minutes. This is essential before adding it to the cutting board, so it does not melt the butter.

How do I create the Butter Board?

Top your board just before serving so all the ingredients are in their prime. The butter can be smeared on your board ahead of time. If you place the butter board in the refrigerator remove the board 20 minutes before serving so the butter is nice and soft.

Step 1: Add the softened butter

Use a butter knife or the back of a spoon to smear the butter onto the board by creating a pretty pattern with dips and valleys.

Step 2: Add the roasted garlic

Remove the garlic from the aluminum foil. Squeeze the garlic out of the skin onto a plate, then pat the excess oil off the garlic. Then, add the roasted garlic cloves evenly over the butter.

Step 3: Add herbs and honey

Top with fresh herbs, making sure they are evenly distributed. Finally, drizzle with honey, serve with fresh bread and enjoy!
