How Do I Make This Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipe?

This amazing strawberry dessert may look difficult to prepare, but it’s actually super simple! In fact, you can put these parfaits together with just a few minutes of prep work. Just follow these four quick steps to make this easy dessert for Valentine’s Day.

Step One: Prepare the Jell-O

The first step to making this easy dessert is to prepare the Jell-O according the package instructions. After the gelatin is mixed and ready to go, remove 1/3 cup of the prepared Jello out of the bowl and set it aside. Chop your strawberries or raspberries into bite-sized pieces and stir the fruit into the reserved gelatin.

Step Two: Prepare the Parfaits

After that, spoon the remaining Jell-o mixture evenly across five wine glasses or dessert cups. Cover each of the glasses with plastic wrap to keep the Jello from spilling, then place the cups at an angle in the refrigerator. Chill the Jello until it is fully set.

*Pro Tip: The easiest way to angle your Jello is to place your dessert cups in a bowl or bread pan. Lay the cups slightly on their side with the edge of the glass resting on the edge of the pan. Wine glasses with jello in them in a bowl.

Step Three: Make the Whipped Topping

While the Jello is chilling, stir the reserved gelatin and fruit into the whipped topping until well combined. When ready to serve, carefully spoon the whipped topping over the prepared Jello and decorate with sprinkles and fruit.

How Do You Prepare Jello at an Angle?

One of the best ways to serve this fun dessert is by taking the presentation up a notch and creating an angled design with your Jello. But how exactly do you achieve this look? In order to get the Jello to set at an angle, you’ll need to store your dessert cups at an angle in the refrigerator.

There’s just one problem with this technique. How do store the cups at an angle without them tipping over and spilling everywhere?

The easiest way to angle your Jello is to place your dessert cups in a bowl or bread pan. Lay the cups slightly on their side with the edge of the glass resting on the edge of the pan. It’s also a good idea to place some plastic wrap over the top of each cup to keep the Jello from spilling as it sets. For extra protection, wrap a paper towel around the base of the glass for a buffer.

Valentine’s Day Dessert Recipe Ideas

Everyone is going to love this simple dessert parfait this Valentine’s Day! And with these fun dessert ideas, you can create an amazing sweet treat for everyone in your family this year.

  • Try different Jello flavors. Strawberry is a great option for a Valentine’s Day dessert, but it’s not the only flavor you can use. Any red gelatin is a great option for a Valentine’s Day treat, including cherry and raspberry.
  • Make fresh whipped cream. Using store-bought whipped topping is a great way to speed up the prep work of your dessert. But you can also make your own whipped cream from scratch to add to the top of your treats. Just beat together heavy whipping cream and sugar until stiff peaks form, then add the homemade whipped cream to the top of your desserts.
  • Use different serving containers. Wine glasses are a fun option for this dessert – especially for Valentine’s Day. But you can have some fun with your dessert presentation by changing up the serving containers. Mason jars, champagne glasses, parfait cups, or clear glass cups are all great options for preparing these individual treats.
  • Make it for different holidays. This cute dessert is perfect for Valentine’s Day because it features classic valentine colors like pink and red. But you can easily swap out the Jell-o flavors for different holidays. Try using blue Jello for the 4th of July or use a variety of colors to make a rainbow of parfaits for St. Patrick’s Day.
  • Add more fruit. Give your parfaits even more flavor by mixing in some different fruit. The flavors will mix perfect with a variety of different fruits, including bananas, blueberries, blackberries, or pineapple.

*This Valentine’s dessert can also be made in disposable plastic cups!
