How Do I Make Lavender Cheesecake?

You’ll love how quickly and easily this no-bake cheesecake recipe comes together. And since there’s no baking involved, the hardest part about making this lavender dessert is waiting for it to chill! This recipe is so easy to make; only three steps are involved.

Step One: Prepare the Crust

Place the graham crackers in the bowl of your food processor and pulse the blades until the crackers are crushed into fine crumbs. Combine the crushed graham crackers with the butter and stir to mix. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of an 8-inch springform pan in an even layer and place the pan in the refrigerator to chill for around 30 minutes.

Step Two: Make the Filling

Add the cream cheese, whipped cream, and powdered sugar to a large bowl. Use an electric mixer to blend the filling ingredients until smooth. After that, add the lavender syrup and a few drops of purple food coloring and beat for two more minutes.

Step Three: Chill the Cheesecake

Remove the crust from the refrigerator and pour the cheesecake filling evenly over the top. Cover the pan and return the cheesecake to the fridge to chill for 2 to 3 hours. Decorate with dried lavender and whipped cream before serving.

How Do I Crush Graham Crackers for Cheesecake Crust?

To get the perfect consistency for your graham cracker crust, you’ll need to crush your graham crackers into a fine crumb. But what is the best way to crush your cookies?

There are two easy ways to crush graham crackers for your cheesecake’s crust, depending on what equipment you have in your kitchen:

  • Food processor. The easiest way to make graham cracker crumbs is with a food processor. Place the crackers in the bowl of the food process, seal the lid, and pulse until the cookies are fine crumbs.
  • Rolling pin. You can crush your crackers with a rolling pin if you don’t have a food processor at home. Place the graham crackers in a plastic bag, seal the top, and roll the rolling pin over the top of the crackers until they’re crushed.

Thanks to its fragrant aroma and light floral flavor, lavender has become a popular addition to many recipes. But if you’ve never prepared a recipe featuring the herb, you may wonder how to use it.

While many varieties of lavender can be used for cooking, the two most popular species in the culinary world are Lavandula angustifolia and Munstead. That’s because their flowers have the sweetest flavor.

But before you head to your local garden center or florist for your own fresh lavender to use in recipes, it might be a good idea to think again. Many commercial lavender growers use pesticides to protect their plants from bugs.

That’s why looking for culinary-grade lavender in your favorite floral recipes is a good idea. You can often find dried lavender flowers in the herb section of your grocery store. Or purchase premade lavender syrup or extract to add to your favorite recipes.

Why is My No Bake Cheesecake Runny?

Getting the right consistency to your no-bake cheesecake is vital to enjoying this delicious dessert. That’s because no one wants to slice into a runny cheesecake!

If you’re worried that your cheesecake is too soft, you can do some simple things to help firm it up before serving.

  • Chill it longer. One of the easiest ways to improve the consistency is to keep the cheesecake in the fridge a little longer. No-bake cheesecake typically needs at least two hours to chill. But you can keep it in the refrigerator up to overnight if needed. The longer it’s stored in the fridge, the firmer it will get.
  • Freeze the cheesecake. If you want your no-bake cheesecake to firm up more quickly, transfer it to the freezer. You can store your cheesecake in the freezer for around one hour to help it set faster.

Hey there! Loved this recipe, melted slightly when I took it out into a hot kitchen but that’s expected. My question is this: your use of the word “whipped” do you mean I need to whip my cream and then use it? Or do you mean to saying “whipping cream”? Since whipped cream implies it’s been whipped of course.
