I do enjoy a margarita form time to time! However, I typically only have them when we go out to eat at a Mexican restaurant or at a Cinco de Mayo celebration. But last week, when we had our family Taco Tuesday night, I decided to try making my own variation of a fruity margarita.  I came up with a this easy-to-make delicious frozen raspberry margarita.

What Ingredients are in the Homemade Raspberry Lime Margarita?

You will need just a few ingredients to prepare this refreshing take on a classic frozen margarita. 

Raspberry water, margarita mix, limes, fresh mint and raspberries.

How do I make Homemade Raspberry Lime Margaritas?

It takes 10 minutes or less to make this refreshing beverage! Here is what you will need to do to make the margarita cocktails.

Step 1: Blend the ingredients

Add raspberry infused water, margarita mix, lime juice, ice cubes, frozen or fresh raspberries and tequila to a blender.
Blend on medium-high speed until well combined and smooth.

Step 2: Rim glasses and serve

Fill a small bowl with sugar or salt. Use a slice of lime to wet the rim of the glass. Dip the glasses upside down into the sugar or salt until the rims of your glasses are covered. Pour equal amounts into 2 rimmed margarita (or drink) glasses. Garnish with fresh lime slices and mint sprigs if desired.

Tips, Tricks and Variations 

This recipe is very basic and can easily be changed up with substitutes. Here are a few ideas to try and suggestions for ingredient substitutions

Make it a mocktail: Leave out the tequila and this frozen drink becomes a delicious mocktail. that anyone can enjoy.

Use seltzer water: If you have a hard time finding raspberry infused water, raspberry seltzer water or plain seltzer water are perfect substitutions for this raspberry margarita recipe.

Add in lemon-lime soda: This is another good alternative to the raspberry water, particularly if you enjoy your drink sweeter.

Chill the glasses ahead of time: Place the margarita glasses in the freezer about 30 minutes before making the cocktails to keep your drinks nice and frosty when served.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raspberry infused water such as Schweppes
  • ½ cup margarita mix
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 cup raspberries fresh or frozen
  • 2 oz tequila
  • Salt or sugar for rimming the glass

Instructions

  • Add raspberry soda, margarita mix, lime juice, ice cubes, raspberries and tequila to a blender.
  • Blend on medium-high speed until well combined and smooth.
  • Pour equal amounts into 2 rimmed margarita (or drink) glasses.
  • Garnish with fresh lime wedges and mint leaves if desired.
  • To rim the glasses:
  • Fill a small bowl with sugar or salt. Use a slice of lime to wet the rim of the glasses. Dip the glass upside down into the sugar or salt until the entire edge of the glass is rimmed.
