Fall has arrived here in New England brining cool, crisp mornings and chilly evenings. I love this time of year! One of my favorite things about Autumn, besides the beautiful foliage is the seasonal produce available, like fresh pears.
I love adding fresh sliced pears to Charcuterie Boards because they pair well with nuts, cheeses and other fruits. I also enjoy making desserts with pears. The other night I decided to create a pear dessert inspired by foods they go well with on a Charcuterie Platter. What did I come up with? This delicious Baked Pears and Cheese with Blueberries recipe!

I like to serve them warm all by themselves. However, they could also be served with a side of ice cream or topped with a dab of whipped cream adding extra sweetness to this fall inspired dessert.
Can I use a different kind of cheese in this pear recipe?
Yes, there are a variety of different kinds of cheeses that you could experiment with in this recipe.I love the possibilities with this dish! Here are a few pear and cheese pairing suggestions I have in mind:
- Sharp Cheddar Cheese
- Blue Cheese
- Gorgonzola Cheese
- Smoked Gouda
Keep in mind that baking times will vary based on cheese consistency. The sharp cheddar cheese and smoked gouda can be cut into chunks and prepared similar to this recipe. However, the blue cheese or gorgonzola cheese would be best crumbled and sprinkled on the pears during the last 5 minutes of baking.

What other fruit can I use in this Fall Recipe?
This sweet and savory dish has so many possibilities. I chose to add blueberries because that is what I had on hand, but there are so many variations. Blackberries, raspberries and cherries would be great options! Dried fruit like apricots, cranberries or raisins would also work.
