Step Three: Coat the Chicken Breasts

Dip each chicken breast in the cornstarch mixture until both sides are fully coated. Then, dip the chicken in the eggs to cover both sides. After that, transfer the chicken to the almonds and press the nuts into both sides of the chicken.

Air Fryer Almond Crusted Chicken Tips & Tricks

You’re going to love the crisp, flavorful crust found in this easy chicken recipe. And when you use these baking tips as you’re cooking, you’re sure to end up with a delicious dinner every time you make this recipe.

  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. The key to getting evenly cooked chicken in the air fryer is to give each piece of chicken plenty of space in the air fryer basket. Make sure the pieces aren’t touching while they’re cooking and cook the chicken in batches for best results.
  • Don’t forget the cooking spray. While you don’t need to use a ton of oil when cooking with your air fryer, it is a good idea to give your crusted chicken a quick spray to help it get brown and crispy. You can use nonstick cooking spray or a mist of oil to coat the chicken before cooking.

How Do You Bake Almond Chicken?

Using your air fryer is the best way to get a crispy coating on the outside of your chicken. But if you don’t have an air fryer at home, you can also bake this chicken in the oven.

Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees. Coat the chicken in the breading as described in the recipe, then place the chicken on a baking sheet. Spray the chicken with nonstick cooking spray or brush each piece lightly with oil. Then, bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 18 minutes.

How Do You Get Breading to Stick to Chicken?

Whether you’re making gluten free chicken with an almond crust or using traditional panko breadcrumbs, it can sometimes be difficult to get your breading to stick to your chicken – especially if you’re making boneless, skinless chicken breasts. The key to getting the breading or crust to stick to the outside of your chicken pieces is to use an egg.

Make sure to fully coat both sides of your chicken piece with beaten egg. The moisture from the egg will help your breading stick to the chicken.

After dipping the chicken in egg, place the chicken in your breading of choice. Lightly press on the chicken to help the breading or almonds stick, then flip the chicken over and repeat the process. If there are sections of the chicken that aren’t covered in breading, simply sprinkle some pieces over that area and lightly press them into place with your fingers.
