If you follow my blog, you already know that I am a huge fan of smoothies and smoothie bowls. They make a delicious, healthy breakfast and are the perfect recovery treat after a long workout. I love to find new ingredients to add to them and make the smoothies and smoothie bowls as nutrient dense as possible.

Recently, I discovered Sambazon Acaí Superfruit Packs in the grocery store. I was eager to give them a try, as I have read about all of the wonderful benefits of Acaí. The Sambazon Acaí Superfruit Packs contain healthy omegas and are made with organic and GMO-free ingredients sustainably sourced in the Brazilian Amazon. They are also: vegan, fair trade, kosher, gluten free and lactose free.

 

What is Acaí?

The acaí berry is a dark purple fruit that is the size of a grape. It grows on the acaí palm trees in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. These delicious berries contain powerful antioxidants, fiber, and heart healthy fats and are considered to be a superfood. They truly are the perfect addition to a smoothie or smoothie bowl!

The Tropical Acaí Bowl recipe that I am sharing here has been my favorite combination of flavors so far  with frozen cherries, blueberries, and the Sambazon Acaí Superfurit Packs as the base. However, the options for making great recipes with these amazing superfruit packs are endless. I also love how quick and easy they are to use, as they can be taken out of the freezer and popped right into the blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 Sambazon Acaí Pure Unsweetened Superfruit Pack
  • 1 Sambazon Acaí Original Blend Superfruit Pack
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Blueberries
  • 1/2 Cup Frozen Cherries
  • 1 Banana
  • 1/2 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • Toppings:
  • 1 Tbsp of Shredded Coconut
  • 1 Tbsp of Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 2 Tbsp of Fresh Blueberries
  • 5 Slices of Kiwi
  • 2 Tbsp on Mango Chunks

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender and Blend, Blend, Blend!
  2. Pour into bowl and add the toppings
