My Story
I started my blog back in 2015 when I was training for Ironman Mont Tremblant. I thought it would be a fun way to document my journey to fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming an Ironman. Training for the race and completing it ended up being way more educational and colorful than I anticipated, which you can read about in my posts related to the event.
One thing I did discover along the way was that I loved writing my blog and I wanted to do more with it. I thought, "How can I turn something I love into a business?" Well, I realized pretty quickly that writing only personal posts was not going to be the answer.
I had already been creating healthy recipe posts and sharing my favorite running tips, which seemed to be popular with my readers. So, I decided to pivot and turn my personal based triathlon blog into a health and wellness site. As a Registered Nurse, I am able to draw on my experience and knowledge to write posts about many health and wellness topics.
Pivoting to Growth
In late 2018, I decide to really go for it and build my audience. It has been a lot of hard work and I have learned a ton along the way. My traffic has quadrupled since then, but I was not still where I wanted to be at the beginning of 2020. So, I set some big goals for myself, but I needed a way to turn them into reality. This is when I read about Russell Brunson.

Russell Brunson is the Best-Selling Author & CEO of the $100M software company ClickFunnels, which is the fastest-growing non-venture backed software company in the world. He has a following of a million+ entrepreneurs. His book ClickFunnels popularized the concept of sales funnels and it has sold hundreds of thousands of copies.
In his new book Traffic Secrets: The Underground Playbook for Filling Your Websites and Funnels with Your Dream Customers, Brunson teaches about the classic and foundational direct marketing techniques that allow people to pick up on new trends and see opportunities that are not always obvious. So, after learning more about his book, I decided to do the 30 day challenge to learn key strategies to increase my traffic. I am two weeks in and already seeing some growth! I love how he clearly defines steps to help me achieve my goals!
For example, I was able to identify my dream follower by identifying why they came to my site in one of the workbook activities in the book. I know now that I should focus my content on healthy recipes and wellness tips. In fact, my audience really enjoys when I write specifically about plant-based recipes, so I will definitely be doing more of that!
