Mizuno Winter Running Gear Review

*This is a sponsored post for Mizuno through my association with Fitfluential. However, the opinions expressed here are my own.

Happy Friday, I hope you had a great week! I don't know about you, but re-entry after the holidays was a bit rough. However, I did my best to get back into a solid workout routine.  I was able to get in several runs despite the cold temps here in Maine and they felt great!

A lot of people ask me how I stay comfortable running outside in the winter. One of the key things is layering properly with the right gear. A month ago, I received a winter running shirt and gloves from Mizuno to try out. I love both items so much!  The shirt is a great base layer on very cold days, but can be worn by itself on warmer winter days. It is made with "Breath Thermo" which is an amazing form of heat-generating technology.

So how does "Breath Thermo" work & why do I love it?

-The Breath Thermo fibers are a yarn that is woven into the shirt that uses body moisture to produce heat

-These fibers are also moisture wicking, which means I stay dry!

-It is very lightweight, so it is perfect for layering without adding bulk. In fact, I really enjoy wearing the shirt alone or with a vest on colder days.  I am actually looking forward to using this shirt as a base layer when I go skiing as well!

Would you like to save this?

We'll email this post to you, so you can come back to it later!

-I also love that the shirt is long. I can tuck it into my tights without worrying about it popping out or I can leave it loose to keep my backside warm.

I also love the gloves, they keep my hands toasty via Breath Thermo technology as well. They are lightweight and have a pocket on the back, which is very handy. I like to tuck a few kleenex in this space as the winter weather can cause my nose to run. They also have a touch screen finger on both hands to allow easy smartphone use.

Overall, I give the Mizuno Winter Running Gear a Five Star rating! I look forward to adding a Mizuno jacket to my wardrobe as well. 1. I have heard so many great things about these! I totally spaced off the opportunity to try them....bummer! I'm in Iowa, so I'm always in layers as well. My go-to "look" is a fleece-lined long sleeved top (or jacket) and a puffer vest.
  2. I need to get a nice pair of gloves! I never think to bring any with me when I go on a run and then my fingers freeze!
  3. I definitely don't run outside in the winter, but I am so happy you have found the right gear to make it possible!
  4. I really need new running gear and should check out this range. I would really love some running gloves as my hands get freezing whilst running outside. Great review!
  5. I definitely don't run during the summer or the winter but I know I should for my health. It's great that they have workout clothes to keep you warm when you are running outdoors during the cold months.
  6. I don't run outside in the winter it gets very cold here, actually I don't run at all because I have a bad knee I don't want to damage. I do go to my local rec center for walking sometimes as they have an inside track. That being said those gloves are really nice.
  7. I agree that running with the right gear is key to be comfortable in any sport. I used to use a pair of worn out running shoes and I ended up injuring my knees in the process. Belle | One Awesome Momma
  8. This is sounds like a great shirt, I'm always looking for great layering pieces. It's darn cold here in MN, and while I don't run, I do walk as much as I can motivate myself to get outside in the winter. The gloves sound great as well, since they also have the Breathe Thermo technology.
  9. I have such a hard time running in the winter - I get cold and don't want to leave my house. These would be great!
  10. I love that shirt. Love it. I have the blue, but I'm going to see if the other colors are on sale. It is so comfy and warm!
  11. Layering is so key to keeping warm and comfortable. But, also love that these shirts are LONG! Finally! I mean - that length is worth it in itself! I am so checking out this company now... love it.
  12. I need new running gloves - I will have to check out the Mizuno ones. My old ones (which I think are Mizuno actually) are starting to wear out.
  13. I am not a runner, but I am always so intrigued by people who run in the winter. I am always curious about what keeps them warm enough when just looking out my window makes ME too cold. LOL
  14. I'm not a runner but I am always fascinated with the science that goes into the making of sports gear. That light weight but ultra warm fabric sounds like something I would enjoy for regular wear. I hate being all bulked up in the winter.
  15. Great review! I like to run outside in the winter but only to a point, not sub zero and single digits like my husband. I'm actually looking for some good socks and gloves. Wool socks are not keeping my feet warm and they go numb (have a pin in my foot so I try to really keep my feet warm) and my hands are always cold!
  16. Living in Southern CA, I sometimes forget that people have to actually dress for the weather :) I think it's great that there is gear out there so you can still run!
  17. Oh I totally want the mizuno gloves now! I love good gloves that aren't bulky and can be used on a cell phone! Mizuno has some awesome stuff!
  18. I'm not a runner at all. That being said these seem like great things for those that do run in the cold weather.
  19. Looks like some awesome gear! Normally I don't need that stuff here in TX, but this weekend I could sure use it!
  20. This is what I need. Its so cold here in the winter I tend to suspend my running which I hate doing, so this would be perfect!
  21. I have tried Mizuno shoes, but not their clothes. Glad you like them, I don't need much winter gear here in Florida.
  22. Back when I used to run, a long time ago, I wore Mizuno shoes. Now I'm married to a guy that works for an athletic company so we don't buy competitor brands.
  23. I could definitely see myself running out in the cold and freezing Midwest. The biggest thing is my hands. If my hands get too cold I'm done... This looks perfect!
  24. I haven't heard of this brand before! Thank you for discovering it to me! Layering is the jey to comfortable running during winter!
  25. I have to try that shirt, I tend to dial back my outdoor running in the winter because of the unpredictable weather, but if it would keep me warm that would help a lot
  26. Mizuno has been around for a long time. I remember having some Mizuno softball gear back in middle school.
  27. It's important for me to not let go of my routine regardless of the season. I think that goes for people who workout on a regular basis as well. This gear sounds awesome! It's nice to stay comfy and warm while you workout during the winter.
  28. I just finally broke down and purchased myself a pair of winter running shoes. I'm so excited to finally go running again!.
  29. I do not run in the winter...or the spring fall or summer either :-) But, my husband has a shirt similar to this (and pants as well) and loves it.
  30. Love this winter gear! It doesn't get that cold here in Texas but when it does I love having something warm so that I can run outside.
  31. no joke I pinned this for later reference to go back and purchase. working on workout clothes to invest in. THANKS!
  32. What a great post! This long sleeve shirt and the gloves are necessary for winter workouts. Thanks for sharing - love this! Xx
  33. I usually never run in the winter because I hate wearing jackets and then getting so hot so quick that I have to take it off. Never heard of mizuno. Sounds amazing. I'm checking them out. Who knows maybe I'll run in the winter.
  34. I'm sure those gloves help a lot. I can't tell you how many times I've been out running in the cold and my hands were freezing.
