How Do I Make the Mango Yogurt Smoothie?

After you have all your ingredients ready to go, you can blend up your own tropical smoothie at home. Follow these two simple steps to make one.

Step One: Blend the Ingredients

To make your smoothie, start by placing the yogurt, mangos, vanilla extract, and coconut cream in the pitcher of your blender. Blend all the ingredients until smooth and well combined.

Step Two: Chill the Yogurt Smoothie

After blending the ingredients together, place it in the refrigerator to chill for a few hours to enhance the flavor. Pour into your favorite cups or glasses and serve cold!

How do I store the smoothie?

This tropical smoothie can be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to three days. I recommend putting it back in the blender to remix before serving it if it has been stored.

Mango Yogurt Smoothie Recipe Tips

Here are a few tips to prepare this recipe so that you will enjoy it at it’s best!

  • Use traditional or Greek yogurt: The type of yogurt you use as the base of your recipe will depend on your preference. You can use Greek or traditional yogurt to make this recipe, allowing you to pick which flavor is right for you. The thick and creamy texture of Greek yogurt is perfect for this blend. However, if you don’t like the tangy flavor, traditional yogurt is also a great option.
  • Try frozen mango: If you don’t have any fresh mango available, this yogurt recipe can be made with frozen mango instead. To ensure the mango blends well with the other ingredients, start by blending the frozen mango with a little bit of water. After the mango is smooth, you can add the remaining ingredients and blend until combined.
  • Sweeten the yogurt with honey: While this yogurt recipe is naturally sweetened thanks to the mango, if you prefer a sweeter flavor just add some honey. Scoop your yogurt into a serving bowl, then top it with a small amount of honey or mix the honey into the yogurt and enjoy.
  • Add Ice: If the smoothie needs to be thickened, simply add ice and blend. Continue to add small amounts of ice until desired consistency is reached.

Variations for this Simple Smoothie

This easy recipe makes a great base for additions and substitutions. These ideas are perfect for changing up the recipe in unique ways!

  • Use flavored yogurt: Try using a flavored yogurt to vary this recipe! Vanilla and lemon yogurt would be great choices to try instead of plain!
  • Garnish your yogurt for more flavor: Another great way to enhance the flavor of your mango yogurt drink is with the help of a garnish. Top a bowlful of yogurt with fresh mint, sugar free whipped topping, or edible flowers for a delicious treat.
  • Add more fruit:Once you have your mango yogurt prepared, you can dress it up with more fruit. Mix in fresh fruit, like bananas, strawberries and pineapple to enhance the flavor of your smoothie and create a healthy treat.
  • Freeze your yogurt smoothie: Turn your blended yogurt drink into a delicious frozen treat by placing your mango yogurt in the freezer. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze until solid. After that, you can simply scoop your frozen dessert into a bowl and enjoy.
  • Make mango yogurt popsicles: Another fun way to enjoy your mango yogurt is by turning them into popsicles. Using your favorite popsicle mold, pour the blended yogurt in and freeze until solid. After the popsicles are frozen, just pop them out  for a delicious frozen yogurt treat.
  • Build a yogurt parfait: This smoothie is very thick, so it can be easily made into a tropical yogurt parfait. Layer your mango yogurt with fresh fruit, like mango pieces, kiwi and pineapple, along with granola and shredded coconut for a delicious snack or breakfast idea.
