Dinnertime can be stressful when life is busy! As much as I love cooking, time is limited on weeknights due to my family’s busy schedule. However, it does not mean resorting to fast food or takeout. I have some “go-to” dinners that I can put together in a hurry by using a few hacks for a quick and easy family meal.
Hacks for a Quick and Easy Family Meal
Keep it Simple.
A delicious family meal does not have to be elaborate! For instance, grilled chicken and roasted vegetables can be prepared in a hurry. This combination makes a tasty homecooked meal that is ready in very little time.
Tyson® Smokehouse Seasoned Chicken Thighs and Tyson® Seasoned Cuts Italian Chicken Breast from Shaw’s refrigerated meats section are staples in my refrigerator. My entire family loves the flavor in these Tyson chicken products. I appreciate the convenience of having fully prepped, marinated and seasoned chicken ready to cook! I can use them for spur of the moment meals or have them handy for future use.
Buy Fresh Cut and Peeled Vegetables
When I know my week is going to be crazy, I make sure to buy fresh vegetables that are ready to eat! This can be a real time saver as I can simply put the pre-cut vegetables on a baking pan with a little oil, salt and pepper. Then I put them in the oven and roast them. Roasting vegetables brings out a delicious and robust flavor in them.
A Family Favorite Meal in No Time!
Here is an idea for a family favorite meal in no time! Grill, bake or sauté your favorite fully prepped Tyson® chicken product from Shaw’s. I like to grill the chicken when it is nice out, which is what I did here.
Grilling the Chicken
For the Tyson® Smokehouse Seasoned Chicken Thighs and Tyson® Seasoned Cuts Italian Chicken Breast, heat up grill to 350 degrees. Then, place the chicken on the grill and turn it after 7 or 8 minutes, cook for an additional 7 to 8 minutes. Serve hot with Roasted Broccoli and Sweet Potatoes in Coconut Oil.
Roasted Broccoli and Sweet Potatoes in Coconut Oil
To make this simple side dish you will need just 5 ingredients:
2 cups broccoli, cut into flowerettes
2 cups sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
Sea salt
Coarse ground pepper
Place on rack in top 1/3 of oven and roast at 450 degrees. After 10 minutes, remove vegetable combo from oven and toss with the melted coconut oil. Sprinkle with desired amount of salt and pepper and place back in the oven. Roast for additional 15 to 20 minutes or until broccoli and sweet potatoes begin to lightly brown. Remove from oven and serve warm with Tyson® Chicken.
There you have it! A simple, homemade meal in no time! I used the Tyson® Smokehouse Seasoned Chicken Thighs and Tyson® Seasoned Cuts Italian Chicken Breast for this meal.
