Hold the mango in place with one hand and use the other hand to cut from the top of the mango down one side of the pit. Repeat the same process with the other side, so you have three slices – two halves and a middle section with the pit inside.

Place the mango halves skin-side down. Use the knife to cut lengthwise and crosswise cuts in the flesh, making sure not to cut all the way through the peel.
