I enjoy making a light homemade salad dressing to add to the salad. I prefer making either an Italian dressing or a simple balsamic dijon vinaigrette dressing. Here are the quick and easy recipes for both dressings.

- ¼ cup white wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons agave syrup (or honey)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Add all ingredients to a Mason jar and shake until well-emulsified.

Simple Balsamic Dijon Vinaigrette Dressing
- ⅓ cups olive oil
- ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup (or honey)
- Pinch of salt and pepper
In a small bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, mustard, honey, pepper and salt.
