Chocolate bark is a simple candy recipe to make! It is fun to add a festive touch to the bark for different holidays. This crispy milk and white chocolate bark with almonds has pink chocolate, strawberries and heart sprinkles swirled into it. It is the perfect, easy to make treat for Valentine’s Day!

What Ingredients do I need for the Chocolate Almond Bark?
To make this colorful Valentine’s Day treat, you will need just seven ingredients:
- Milk Chocolate Chips: While you can use any brand of chocolate chips in the bark recipe, I like to use a high quality brand like Ghirardelli. Since chocolate is the main ingredient, quality and taste are very important!
- White Chocolate Chips: Once again, I prefer to use high caliber brand of white chocolate. My preferred brand is Ghirardelli; however, you can use whatever brand you prefer!
- Freeze Dried Strawberries: I love adding freeze dried strawberries to this candy! It adds contrast in sweetness and gives the bark more texture. I ordered a big jar of these freeze dried strawberries from Amazon!
- Sliced Almonds: Thinly sliced almonds are swirled in to the chocolate for extra crunch!
- Crispy Rice Cereal: This is a favorite of mine to add to the bark. I am a big fan of Hershey’s Krackel bars and adding in Rice Krispies Cereal gives this candy a similar texture.
- Red or Pink Melting Chocolate: I used Wilton’s pink candy melts for this recipe. Since I do a lot of baking, I order the candy melts in bulk from Amazon because there is a variety of colors available. However, you could also just use white chocolate chips and add a drop of pink or red food coloring.
- Valentine’s Sprinkles: The Valentine’s themed sprinkles give this delicious milk and white chocolate almond bark a festive flare!

How do I make the Swirled Valentine’s Candy Bark?
There are just a few simple steps to make this festive candy. It is a fun recipe to make with the kids!
Step 1: Melt half of the Milk Chocolate Chips
Line 13×9 pan with parchment or wax paper. In a microwave safe bowl, melt half of the milk chocolate chips in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and keep microwaving at 50% power in 30 second intervals until all of the chips have melted.
Step 2: Layer Ingredients
When the chocolate chips are melted, pour chocolate into 13×9 pan and layer half of the strawberries, almonds, and crispy rice cereal on top.
Step 3: Melt half of the White Chocolate and swirl on top
Melt half of the white chocolate chips in the microwave in the same way as the chocolate chips and pour into pan. Lightly swirl the ingredients together making sure the coat the strawberries, almonds, and cereal with the chocolate.
Step 4: Layer ingredients again, melt remaining chocolate and swirl in
Add the second half of the strawberries, almonds, and cereal to the mixture. Melt the rest of the chocolate chips and swirl onto the top, making sure to coat the other ingredients.
Step 5: Melt colored chocolates and add sprinkles
Melt the red or pink melting chocolates and swirl onto the top of the bark. Sprinkle bark with Valentine’s sprinkles.
Step 6: Chill until set and break into pieces
Chill until set, approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour. Break into approximately 24 pieces, serve and enjoy!
White Chocolate Bark with Almonds
Ingredients
- 12 ounce bag Milk Chocolate Chips
- 12 ounce bag White Chocolate Chips
- 1/4 cup Freeze Dried Strawberries chopped
- 1/4 cup Sliced Almonds
- 1/2 cup Crispy Rice Cereal we used Rice Crispies
- 1/4 cup Red or Pink Chocolate Melting Disks
- Valentine’s Sprinkles
Instructions
- Line 13x9 pan with parchment or wax paper.
- In microwave safe bowl, melt half of the chocolate chips in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and keep microwaving at 50% power in 30 second intervals until all of the chips have melted.
- Once melted, pour chocolate into 13x9 pan and layer half of the strawberries, almonds, and crispy rice cereal on top.
- Melt half of the white chocolate chips in the microwave in the same way as the chocolate chips and pour into pan. Lightly swirl the ingredients together making sure the coat the strawberries, almonds, and cereal with the chocolate.
- Add the second half of the strawberries, almonds, and cereal to the mixture.
- Melt the rest of the chocolate chips and swirl onto the top, making sure to coat the other ingredients.
- Melt the red or pink melting chocolates and swirl onto the top of the bark. Sprinkle bark with sprinkles.
- Chill until set, approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour.
- Break into pieces and serve.
