Wellness Tips for Every Day

This post is sponsored by Wellmune® through Kitchen PLAY. All opinions expressed are my own.

It is hard to believe we are almost halfway through 2020. It is around this time of year that I like to look back at the goals I set in January and see how much progress I have made. Many of my goals were centered around health and wellness. I started off strong but have slacked off a bit recently. So, I took a little time to put together some Wellness Tips for Every Day to help get me back on track.

Some of these tips are pretty obvious like getting enough sleep and staying hydrated. However, sometimes we forget that when we don't do these things, it can have a negative impact on our wellbeing. Other tips I share, like supporting the immune system with yeast beta glucans might be new to you. Recently, I learned that I could find yeast beta glucans in certain products that contain the natural ingredient Wellmune®. Now, this is an essential part of my daily wellness routine.

Wellness Tips for Every Day

Get Plenty of Rest

Proper sleep is an essential piece of any wellness plan. However, a lot of us are walking around sleep deprived and it can have a serious impact on our overall health. While we are catching our z's, our body is hard at work healing and repairing tissue. A good night's sleep is necessary for our immune system to function properly to help ward off illness. Most people should aim to get 8 hours of sleep every night. It's a minor way to majorly improve overall wellness.

Stay Hydrated

Many people are familiar with the advice that "You should drink 8 glasses of water a day". Proper hydration is important to maintaining health and wellness for a number of reasons. It aids in digestion and helps maintain body muscle tone, as well as many other things to help the body function optimally. With all of these great reasons to drink up, it should be easy to get in the H2O our body needs each day. However, something so simple can feel very hard to do at times. One thing I like to do to help me drink more H2O is infuse it with slices of fruit and fresh herbs to give it flavor! The strawberry, blueberry and mint water featured below is one of my favorite ways to stay hydrated!

Practice Proper Hand Hygiene

Did you know that proper hand washing is considered the single most effective way to prevent the spread of germs? It also happens to be the easiest and least expensive method too! So, make sure to take the time for proper hand hygiene. How long should you scrub a dub your hands with soap and water? A good rule of thumb is it should take the amount of time that it takes to sing the "Happy Birthday" song.

Add in Superfoods

"Superfood" is a term to describe anything edible that is a nutritional powerhouse. These foods contain high amounts of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.  The nutrient dense foods may help to fend off illness and boost overall wellness. Some examples of superfoods are: broccoli, tomatoes, strawberries, spinach, cucumbers, mint and chia seeds.

Immune Support with Yeast Beta Glucans

All of the things I mentioned above play a key role in supporting the immune system. However, adding yeast beta glucans is a next-level wellness practice. Taking supplements or consuming foods or beverages that contain yeast beta glucans is a proven way to boost immune health. It can also help support overall physical and mental wellbeing.

What are Yeast Beta Glucans?

Beta glucans are natural fibers found in certain foods like mushrooms, cereal grains and baker's yeast. The beta glucans specifically found in baker's yeast have been researched and found to have a positive impact on immune health. But not all yeast beta glucans are the same, nor are they all well-researched for quality and efficacy.

Where do I find Yeast Beta Glucans?

They are found in any food, beverage or supplement that contains the natural ingredient called Wellmune.
