At this time of year, I often seen fresh figs in the grocery store. They are so pretty, but I have to admit I had never really cooked with them. So, I decided to buy some and see what I could come up with!

I love how roasting food can really bring out the flavor. So, I decided to give it a try with figs. Figs can be very sweet, so I added some bacon on top to make the dish a sweet and salty combo. It was a big hit and this Roasted Figs and Bacon recipe will now be a staple for holiday dinners!

Step 1: Prepare the Figs

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Using a sharp knife, slice figs in half and arrange in a casserole dish. Then, drizzle with honey. Sprinkle rosemary and bacon on top.

Place on center rack in oven and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until figs start to lightly brown.

  • 12 figs
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ cup bacon already cooked and crumbled
  • 1-2 sprigs rosemary chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Slice figs in half and arrange them in an oven safe casserole dish.
  • Drizzle honey on the figs. Then, sprinkle with rosemary and crumbled bacon
