How to make the Peppermint Bark Cheesecake Dip

Now that you have got all of the ingredients together let’s make the tasty Peppermint Bark Cheesecake Dip.

 Step one: Let’s get started

First of all, gather all of your ingredients together. You will need a large mixing bowl so that you can beat the ingredients together. In your chosen bowl, add your cream cheese and beat until it becomes light and fluffy in appearance. You will then want to add your cool whip topping and marshmallow fluff.

Step two: Make it sweeter

Now it is time to add the extra sweetness to this peppermint cheesecake dip. Slowly add the powdered sugar while you are stirring to ensure all of the ingredients are combined. Then get your chocolate chips and Andes mint chocolate and fold them into the mixture. This will give that bold peppermint flavor.

Step three: Time to wait

Once you have made your dip it is time to be patient and wait. Pop it into the refrigerator and allow the dip to chill for around 2 hours before you want to serve. Want to know what to serve it with? I recommend graham crackers, pretzels, or cookies. It even works well with fruit. Yum!

Recipe notes and tips

It is always a good idea to get some helpful tips and notes that will help make the recipe easier or remind you of things to think about. No matter how simple it is there will always be some extra guidance.  I have a couple of suggestions and notes that will help you when making this recipe.

  • When you are softening the cream cheese you could use a stand mixer or electric hand mixer if you want to speed up the process.
  • Don’t skip the chilling part. It might be tempting to just dive right into the tasty dip but it needs that time to chill and for the cheesecake dip to set a little. It will be worth the wait I promise!
  • The cream cheese needs to be softened to ensure that all of the other ingredients can combine together.
  • Room temperature ingredients are easier to work with, so you may want to ensure that ingredients stored in the refrigerator have time to get to room temperature before making this dip.

Variations to try

When it comes to any recipe it is always good to hear of any variations and changes you can make. I have some suggestions that you might want to try.

  • This dip could be the perfect base as a filling to make a no-bake cheesecake. Blitz some graham crackers and mix them with melted butter to make a base. Refrigerate, and then add this cream cheese peppermint dip on top and then refrigerate for two hours to allow it to set. It won’t have the same hold as a cheesecake you would normally make, but it is a great option for a quick dessert. You could also make individual ones.
  • You could add different candies to this dip instead of peppermint and chocolate chips. M&Ms are great for this.
  • You could swirl through the cheesecake dip with a bit of food coloring to make it look super festive.
  • If you can’t get hold of Andes peppermint chocolate crushed candy canes will work great and give added texture and that peppermint flavor. This will make a cute candy cane cheesecake dip. Any other peppermint treats will work well with this dip.
  • Make it a different flavor by leaving out the mints & chocolate chips. Then, swirl through some pumpkin purees or fruit puree of your choosing to elevate this dip to the next level.
  • If you don’t want to add anything peppermint to the dip, a little bit of peppermint extract will do the job with no problem.
  • White chocolate chips will be super tasty in this dip.

FAQs

There will always be questions that people may have even though it may be seen as an easy recipe, so hopefully, I will have managed to answer some of the most commonly asked questions below.

What is a cheesecake dip?

This is a fun take on a traditional cheesecake that can be made in half the time. It gives you all of that flavor of cheesecake with every bit, but in bite-size form, as you dip the textured element like a cookie or cracker into it. However, the flexibility of the cheesecake dip means that you can dip all sorts of tasty things into it.

How should I store the peppermint bark cheesecake dip?

If you have any leftovers of this delicious peppermint cheesecake dip recipe, or you are making it ahead of time before you need it then the best advice is to keep it refrigerated in an airtight container. The cheesecake dip will last in the refrigerator for 3-4 days to keep it at its best.
