How to Improve Your Workout Motivation
When it comes to working out and improving your health, you can become your own worst enemy. If you aren't motivated, you simply don't have the drive to continue your workout routine. Even half an hour a day can become a seemingly impossible task.
The hard fact is that it's not impossible, but you're struggling to motivate yourself. When you don't want to do something, you'll find anything else to do to avoid it. But most people don't decide to start working out for no reason. You likely have a larger motivation, the trick is to create a workout-friendly mindset so that you can remind yourself about it.

Set Clear, Achievable Goals
One of the issues that people have with working out is that they find it hard to track their progress. A nebulous goal like "get healthier" or "be more fit" is a good starting point, but you need more concrete goals to reach.
If you want to lose weight, then how much weight do you want to lose? Do you want to go down a dress size? Do you want to be fit enough to run a mile in a certain amount of time or to compete in a competition?
These are all solid goals to work towards, but it's best to break them down into smaller, more achievable goals. This way, it's easier to see the difference you're making. Once you've reached a goal, then reward yourself. This is a scientifically viable way to boost your motivation.
Have Fun
Believe it or not, people want to do things that are fun. One of the biggest pitfalls to maintaining a workout routine is that you simply get bored. If you do the same thing over and over again, then it's easy to lose interest.
Instead of reaching this point, inject a bit of fun into your routine. If there's a sport or activity that you enjoy, then you should integrate it into your workouts. Find clubs nearby or look into different exercises that you can do at home.
Variety is the spice of life, and it can also be what makes your workout goals more viable. Don't be afraid to be flexible and challenge yourself.

Workout Buddies
One way to have more fun while working out and provide an extra motivation boost is to work out with other people. If you have a regular schedule where you have arranged to meet up with someone, then skipping your workout means that you've let that person down.
You can also create a more varied routine with someone else. Playing soccer by yourself isn't easy, but if you have a few friends who also want to get fit and play a sport while they're at it, then suddenly you have a team.
If you can include friends and family, then do so. Go on walks or runs with other people. Play sports with other people. Even joining a nearby group or working out with someone on video-conferencing can help.
Work Out In Comfort
If you're uncomfortable and experiencing pain while doing something, then you're less likely to want to do it. Working out is difficult enough as it is, without adding to it by being uncomfortable without good reason.
Sometimes the clothes people wear while they work out make it more difficult, especially if they are too constrictive or even baggy enough to get in the way. Appropriate clothing goes a long way to helping you to keep up your routine.
Your workout clothing should start from a solid foundation, so comfortable workout panties and sports bras are vital for women. It's easy to forget about these parts of your outfit, but you'll soon notice if you wear inappropriate underwear while working out. From there, you should wear moisture-resistant and comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear.
Uncomfortable clothing can even be dangerous, as it may increase the likelihood of making a mistake and hurting yourself.
Find Balance
When working out, you should focus on making it an everyday habit, so it becomes second nature to work out. However, this should be within reason. If you work out too hard or too much, especially when you first start, you can burn yourself out and even cause an injury.
Give yourself time and space to rest when you need it. You can start your workout as small as you need to, then build yourself up over time to a more strenuous routine. If you do injure yourself, then let your body heal so that you can get back to your routine as quickly as possible.
