Then, remove the lid and add the ice. Blend the drink again until the ice is completely crushed and the ingredients are well mixed.

Step Three: Freeze the Drink

Place the mocha mixture in the freezer to chill for at least one hour until it has slightly solidified.

Step Four: Prepare the Drink

When ready to serve, drizzle chocolate syrup along the inside of your glass, letting it drip to the bottom of the cup. Can I Make a Frappuccino Without Espresso?

The espresso found in a Frappuccino is what gives this frozen drink it's classic coffee flavor. But if you don't have an espresso maker at home, it may be difficult to add this type of coffee to your homemade blend. Luckily, there are a couple of substitutions you can make to whip up this drink at home without the need for an expensive espresso machine.

  • Instant espresso or espresso powder. To avoid needing an espresso maker at home, you can add coffee flavor to your blended drinks with the help of espresso powder. Often found in the baking aisle or coffee aisle of your grocery store, this instant option is great for adding a strong coffee flavor to drinks and desserts without the need to brew coffee at all. Add the powder to your blended drink to instantly give it a coffee flavor.
  • Strongly brewed coffee. Another option for adding coffee flavor to your Frappuccino is to brew a small pot of strong coffee. Increase the amount of coffee grounds you use to give regular coffee the bold flavor often found in espresso. Before adding the coffee to your Frappuccino, make sure to give it time to cool.

Mocha Cookie Crumble Recipe Variations

The fun part about making your favorite coffee drinks at home is that you can experiment with different flavors! Try these recipe variations to create a delicious frozen coffee drink.

  • Try different cookies. The easiest way to adjust the recipe is to mix in various types of cookies. Oreos are a great option, but you can also try mixing in other crushed cookies like chocolate chip, Thin Mints, or Milano cookies.
  • Use non-dairy milk. Substitute regular milk with your favorite non-dairy variety to create a dairy-free version of this drink. Almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk are all great options for a homemade Frappuccino.
  • Test different types of chocolate. The classic Starbucks recipe uses semi-sweet chocolate pieces and chocolate syrup. Try changing up the flavor of your frozen coffee by mixing in different types of chocolate, like dark chocolate, white chocolate, or even hot fudge.
