How to make the Air Fryer Jalapeño Poppers

Now that you have got all of the ingredients together it is time to make the dish.

Step one: Prepare your jalapeños

Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Then, remove seeds and ribs. Rinse the jalapeños with cold water to remove oil or any additional seeds.

Pro Tip: I wear gloves when I do this to avoid getting jalapeño oil on my skin as it can burn. However, it is not necessary as long as you are careful not to touch your face or eyes while working with them. Just make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after the seeds have been removed.

Step two: Time for seasoning

In a mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese and the Ranch seasoning. Spoon the cheese mixture into each half of pepper. Then, wrap each half with a slice of bacon

Step three: Put the jalapeños in the air fryer and enjoy

Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or spray it lightly with cooking spray. Place the poppers in the air fryer basket and cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes or until the bacon is crisp.

  • Handling spicy jalapeños  means that you can’t touch anything until you have washed your hands. There is no worse feeling than rubbing your skin and eyes, or touching someone else and the chili oil generated form preparing the jalapemnos stays on your hands and it stings!
  • Be careful not to overfill your jalapenos with the cheesy stuffing.
  • There is minimal prep for these air fryer spicy peppers but it is always a good idea to have everything you need before you start.

Variations to try

When it comes to any recipe it is always good to hear of any variations you could make and try. This is by no means an exact recipe, and you can do your own thing when it comes to what you add or how you make it. Here are a couple of recommended variations that you might want to try.

  • You could add some extra seaosning to the cream cheese filling. Things like red pepper flakes, onion powder, black pepper, and even hot sauce will be great additions.
  • This method would work with many other vegetables. You coudl stuff bell peppers, other chili’s and even portobello mushrooms.
