How do I make Air Fryer Hamburgers?

Step 1: Prepare the hamburger patties

Start off by preparing the hamburger patties. The first thing you will need to do is make the hamburger seasoning. Add the salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried parsley and dried oregano to a small bowl and stir to combine. Place the fresh ground meat in a large bowl and add the seasoning mix. Stir with a wooden spoon until the seasoning is well combined with the meat. Next, form the meat into 4 hamburger patties that are about half an inch thick.

Step 2: Air Fry the hamburgers

Once your patties are seasoned, it’s time to start cooking! Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Carefully place the hamburger patties into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook on air fryer mode for 5 minutes.  Flip each patty over and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until they are cooked to the desired level of doneness. For example, if you want to make medium rare hamburgers in the air fryer, you may need to reduce the cook time by 2 to 3 minutes. I find it is always best to use a meat thermometer when cooking meat in the air fryer. When done, remove from the air fryer basket and serve warm. The burgers may need to be cooked in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Step 3: Serve and enjoy!

Place the hamburger patties onto buns. You can top your burgers however you like—cheese slices, bacon strips or bits, lettuce leaves…the possibilities are endless! If you don’t have a lot of time for topping preparation beforehand, simply keep some chopped vegetables on hand that can be quickly added at mealtime—onions rings add great flavor and crunch! Place your toppings onto each patty before serving them up alongside some crispy French fries or homemade potato wedges cooked in the same air fryer!
