What do I need to make the Air Fryer Bacon and Egg Squares?

There are just four ingredients needed to make this air fryer breakfast recipe. Optional garnishes can also be added as desired. Here is what you will need to make the. bacon and egg squares: 

  • Puff pastry
  • Eggs
  • Cheese 
  • Bacon

Optional garnishes and seasonings:

  • Green onions
  • Parsley
  • Salt 
  • Pepper

How do I make the Air Fryer Bacon and Egg Pockets?

Depending on the size of your air fryer, you will likely need to prepare the breakfast pockets in a few batches. Here is what you will need to do to make them.

Step 1: Prepare the Puff Pastry

With each pastry sheet still folded, cut in half. Then, open the pastry sheet and cut each half into 3, cutting along the crease. In a small bowl, whisk 1 egg with a teaspoon of water. Brush the egg mixture on top of each pastry rectangle to coat it.

Step 2: Air Fry the Pastry 

Place as many pastry rectangles as you can in fit your air fryer, taking care to not overcrowd them, so the air can flow properly. Cook at 380 degrees for 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove and repeat the process until all pastries are cooked. Then, Allow puff pastry to cool for a few minutes.

Step 3: Cut the Squares 

Using a sharp knife, cut a square within the pastry, leaving a ½ inch to ¾ inch border. With your fingers, push the square down into the pastry to create a pocket.

Step 4: Add the Bacon, Egg and Cheese and Cook

Transfer your pastry back to your air fryer. Then, break an egg and pour it into the square pocket without breaking the yolk. Top with shredded cheese and bacon. Cook at 380 degrees for 5 minutes, or until the egg white is cooked through. Remove and top with chopped green onion, parsley, salt and pepper if desired. Enjoy!
