Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 medium orange peeled and sliced
  • 4 fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries
  • 4 cups cold filtered water

Instructions

  • Wash the fruit thoroughly. Slice the orange with the peel on, hull and halve the strawberries, and rinse the blueberries.
  • Place the blueberries in the bottom of a large glass pitcher and gently press them with the back of a spoon to release some juice. Add the strawberries on top, then squeeze the orange slices lightly over the pitcher and drop the slices in.
  • Pour in the cold filtered water, give it a quick stir, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours — overnight is better. Strain the fruit out after 12 hours and drink within 4 days.

Notes

Storage: Strain the fruit out after 12 hours. The infused water keeps in the refrigerator for up to 4 days once the fruit is removed.
Substitutions: Swap the strawberries and blueberries for raspberries, blackberries, or sliced kiwi for variety. A few sprigs of fresh mint or basil pair nicely with citrus.
Make ahead: This recipe is built to be made ahead — assemble it the night before for grab-and-go water the next day.
From the registered nurse: This recipe is a hydration tool, not a detox or cleanse. The benefit is that flavored water makes it easier to actually drink enough — and adequate hydration supports kidney function, energy, focus, and digestion. If you have a chronic condition or take medications affecting fluid balance, talk to your healthcare provider about your daily fluid target.
