Air Fryer Mushrooms Recipe

Step One: Prepare the Mushrooms

  • Start by washing the mushrooms to remove excess dirt. Then, place the clean mushrooms on a parchment paper line baking sheet to dry. When they have dried, toss the mushrooms with the soy sauce and set them aside to soak.

Step Two: Make the Breading

  • Prepare the crispy breading by adding the eggs to a medium bowl and beating them until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, oregano, cayenne pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper. Add the panko bread crumbs to a third bowl.

Step Three: Coat the Mushrooms in Breading

  • Start by dipping a mushroom in the flour mixture. Next, dip it in the egg mixture, then finish by coating the mushroom in panko breadcrumbs. Continue this process until all the mushrooms are fully breaded.

Step Four: Air Fry the Mushrooms

  • Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees and coat the basket with nonstick cooking spray. When the air fryer is hot, place the breaded mushrooms in the air fryer basket, making sure to leave a little bit of space between each piece. Air fry each batch for six minutes, then remove the basket and flip the mushrooms. Continue cooking for another 6 minutes, until the breading is golden brown on both sides. Continue frying the mushrooms in batches until they have all been cooked.
