Get Your Flu Shot

With the colder weather coming, the flu is going to make its yearly visit. The best way to protect yourself from the flu is to get your free flu shot from your local pharmacy. The flu shot will keep you from getting the flu and spreading it to others. If you get the flu during the holiday season that can be a real bummer that will keep you away from your loved ones.

If you have elderly relatives you are going to want to be in optimal health to see them in order to keep them safe. Make your flu shot appointment today and start making plans for the holiday season.

Start Taking Supplements

Certain supplements will help boost your immune system to keep you from getting colds or other germs that you could potentially spread to other people. Taking remedies like echinacea, elderberry, vitamin C, and zinc all help your immune system stay strong and ward off colds.

Garlic is also another homeopathic remedy that supports immune health. Cooking with garlic can help get the vitamins into your system. If swallowing pills or cooking is not in your plan, there are several teas on the market that you can brew that will help keep you feeling fine through the change of seasons.

Get regular exercise if you want to have a strong immune system. When you workout, you are strengthening your body and your endurance. A strong body will in turn have a strong immune system and you will be guaranteeing your good health.

Exercise gets the blood flowing throughout your body, and when the blood starts flowing, all the immune system molecules you need for a strong body start flowing through your system as well. 30 minutes of exercise a day has proven to strengthen immune systems and protect people from germs and disease.

Get Sleep

Your body wears down and gets weak if you do not sleep enough. A tired body doesn’t have the strength to fight off germs and colds, and in turn, you may get sick enough to miss out on family holidays. With plenty of time until the holidays, today is a great day to start a solid sleep regimen.

Hydrate Yourself

Water makes your immune system stronger. The lymph system of your body helps fight infections and germs as they enter the body. This system of your body is made up of a lot of water. If you are not getting enough hydration, the system will slow down and you will not fight germs effectively. Drink as much water as possible throughout the day, and you will stay healthy.
