Staying Fit While Stuck at Home
Just because our activities are limited right now, it does not mean we have to be completely inactive all together. Check out these tips for Staying Fit While Stuck at Home!
Many of us are stuck at home right now, but it does not mean we need to become couch potatoes! There are plenty of ways that we can maintain our fitness while our exercise facilities are closed. Below are some examples of how we can continue staying fit while stuck at home.
So, while you sit and wait for a sign that things may begin to return to normal, or you sit and wait for a senior citizen stimulus check to be able to buy some exercise equipment for the house, there are alternative ways to stay active. You may not be working from home, but that doesn't mean that you should not follow some kind of routine.
In fact, sticking to a good routine right now can really help maintain a certain sense of normalcy, especially if you have children at home. Part of a healthy plan each day can be scheduling in time to exercise. Although the gyms are closed, there are a number of activities that can be done to stay fit right in your own home!

How can I stay fit while stuck at home?
There are so many options from online exercise classes to simply putting on a pair of running shoes and heading out there door for a quick jog. Here are some of my favorite ways to stay fit while stuck at home.
Running
You may not be able to go to your usual local running group, but that doesn't mean that you can't go out and run. You're allowed to go out once a day for exercise, so why not start a running program from the internet or from a phone app? These programs are very motivational and can be used anytime! It's one of the easiest ways to stay fit and an inexpensive way too, all you really need are a good pair of running shoes and exercise clothes.

Cycling
The weather is starting to warm up, so cycling may be a great option for some people. Cycling is a terrific, low impact form of exercise. I love it because it is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. If you have a stationary bike, hop in your bike while watching your favorite show on Netflix!
Home HIIT
Technology is a wonderful thing, especially now! So, there is no reason to sit still when you are unable to go to the gym to exercise. YouTube has plenty of HIIT workouts available to watch, and you can get your cardio in from the comfort of your very own living room!
Pilates or Yoga
Not all home workouts have to be cardio-related. You can really have fun with an exercise that is slower and more meaningful like pilates or yoga. Pilates is a terrific way to strengthen your core and increase your mobility. Yoga is also a wonderful way to improve core strength and flexibility. There are several free online classes to try out!
