3 Healthy Family Goals for the New Year

*I've partnered with Green Giant, Optimum Nutrition, vitafusion and L'il Critters as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. Do you make New Year's resolutions or goals for your family? Check out these 3 Healthy Family Goals for the New Year.

The New Year is off to a good, but busy start. In fact, January has just flown by here! Between work, training and my kid's extracurricular activities, every day of my schedule has been pretty full. However, I have been sticking to the health and wellness goals I set for myself for this year. I don't typically make resolutions, but I do like to make monthly and yearly goals. I make them for myself and for my family. These 3 Healthy Family Goals for the New Year that I have set will help to keep everyone on track with a solid health and wellness routine.

3 Healthy Family Goals for the New Year

Start with a healthy breakfast every day

Breakfast is typically described as the most important meal of the day. It is also the one that tends to be skipped or skimped on when rushing out the door in the morning. However, a healthy breakfast is essential as it provides energy to help focus on school or work. It also boots up your metabolism to burn calories throughout the day. So, I was thrilled to discover Green Giant Cauliflower Veggie Hash Browns at Walmart! They are quick and easy to make and a healthy breakfast option. They have the same hearty flavor and crunchy bite as regular hash browns with a full serving of cauliflower in each one. I love that they are free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives. My kids really enjoy the taste. They are a terrific healthy choice to start each day! Green Giant also has some other great options to choose from including: Broccoli and Cauliflower Veggie Hashbrowns and Cauliflower Gnocchi.

Choose nutrient dense snacks

Both of my children are busy with sports. My daughter does competitive gymnastics and my son plays hockey. They have long practices that can run until close to their bedtime. So, it is important that they do have some snacks in between their meals to fuel them with energy. A lot of the snack options available lack in nutritional value. So I started making them healthy, nutrient dense smoothies to enjoy before or after practice. I found Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey at Walmart to add to their pre and post workout smoothies. It is delicious and easy to mix in the smoothie and it contains a whopping 24 grams of whey protein per serving. The Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey is also gluten free and has just 120 calories, 1.5 grams of fat and 2 grams of sugar in a serving. There are 3 delicious flavors to choose from: Double Rich Chocolate, Vanilla Ice Cream and Strawberries & Cream. Another Optimum Nutrition product that I love is their Amino Energy, which contains 5 grams of amino acids per serving! I add it to my water after a hard workout as it is great for recovery.

Make sure to get in all of your daily vitamins

We typically eat healthy meals and I try to incorporate fruits and veggies into everyone's diet. However, some days it just doesn't happen. So, taking a multivitamin each day is one way to insure that everyone hits the daily recommendation for vitamins and minerals. I take the vitafusion Women's Gummy Vitamin and my husband takes the vitafusion Men's Gummy Vitamin from Walmart. They are each designed to meet the specific needs of males and females. They are the #1 Gummy Vitamin Brand and are the only one with "clinically proven absorption"* with an Award Winning Taste!**

My kids take the L'il Critters Children's Gummy Vitamins from Walmart. They love the taste and the cute gummy bear shape. I love that there are no artificial sweeteners or flavors, no high-fructose corn syrup or synthetic dyes and are free of gluten and dairy. L'il Critters is the only children's gummy brand with "doctor tested proven nutrient absorption."*
