Over the past 6 months, I had to take a pause from running and high impact sports after surgery. During this time, I discovered a love for hiking on the beautiful trails here in Maine and on my various travels to other states. Hiking is great for me as it is low impact, yet challenging, but most importantly it is a wonderful activity for the body and mind!

Unfortunately, shortly after I started my hiking adventures, I began experiencing some foot discomfort. It was a similar pain to one I had in the past, so it did not take long for me to identify the issue causing it. It was plantar fasciitis rearing it's ugly head again.  I had recently bought new trail shoes to try out and they were likely the cause of the problem.

The trail sneakers were expensive, so the thought of not being able to wear them was upsetting. However, I needed to do something before the problem worsened and spun out of control. A friend of mine recommended that I try orthotics for the foot pain. So, after doing some research, I decided to give New Balance Casual Therapeutic Cushion Insoles a try.  I was skeptical at first, as I had tried insoles in the past, but found them to be uncomfortable at times. New Balance Superfeet Inserts in trail running shoes.

However, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the New Balance Casual Therapeutic Cushion Insoles are on my feet. These comfort insoles are made with therapeutic foam that conforms to the contours of each foot. This provides gentle support that moves with my feet and provides plantar fasciitis relief. The comfortable orthotics also have a heel cushion engineered to soften impact forces from the ground.
