Shamrock Shake McDonald's Copycat Recipe

With this easy Shamrock Shake recipe, you no longer have to wait until St. Patrick's Day to enjoy this classic treat from McDonalds. All you need are a few simple ingredients and a blender and you will be able to make this mint flavored milkshake in just about five minutes!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • teaspoon mint extract (Make sure to use Mint extract, NOT Peppermint extract to create the same flavor as the McDonald's shake) If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, add ¾ teaspoon of the mint extract.
  • 3 drops green food coloring
  • whipped cream
  • green sprinkles
  • 1 maraschino cherry

Instructions

  • Add ice cream and milk to the blender and blend until smooth.
  • Add mint and green food coloring to blender and blend until well combined. Add additional green food coloring, one drop at a time, if needed to achieve desired color.
  • Pour into glass, add whipped cream, green sprinkles and a maraschino cherry, if desired.
