Preheat oven to 350F. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, cream together the white sugar, brown sugar, butter and peanut butter.
Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes on medium.
Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix until they are completely incorporated.
Use your hands to roll the dough into balls. Use about 2 tablespoons of dough per ball.
Press your thumb into the center of the dough ball to make a hole.
Spoon about a teaspoon of jam into the hole.
Place the jam filled dough balls on the prepared cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 16-18 minutes, until the cookies have browned slightly around the edges.
Allow the cookies to cool for a couple of minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
