Oven Baked Crispy White Beans

Oven Baked Crispy White Beans are a quick and easy healthy snack, They are made with canned white beans, seasoning and olive oil all tossed together. Then, they are baked in the oven until lightly browned and crispy!

  • Preheat your oven to 400. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Allow the beans to drain thoroughly so they aren’t wet when you season them. (*See recipe tips!)
  • In a large bowl, gently toss the beans with olive oil.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the garlic, onion, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, cayenne, and cornstarch. Add this mix to the bowl with the beans and gently toss to coat the beans in the seasonings.
  • Dump the seasoned beans onto the lined baking sheet and gently spread them out in a single layer.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, then stir the beans and return to the oven for 15 more minutes. Check to see if they are crispy and make sure they aren’t burning and continue cooking for 5 minutes at a time until they are crispy.
  • Enjoy right away or store in a sealed container at room temperature for 2-3 days. They won’t be as crispy after being stored.

Notes

IMPORTANT: Rinse and dry the beans thoroughly: The key to getting crispy, crunchy beans is to make sure your canned beans are cleaned and dried properly. Start by placing the beans in a strainer and run cold water over them until the water runs clear. After that, allow the beans to sit in the strainer and drip for a few minutes, then pour the beans over a clean towel and give them a few minutes to air dry.
