New Year's Eve Snacks with Rice Krispies

Whether you’re hosting a party or just counting down to midnight at home with your family, the best way to celebrate the new year is with delicious treats! And no matter how you’re celebrating, you can’t go wrong with these easy New Year’s Eve snacks. These no bake Rice Krispies treats are topped with melted chocolate and sparkly sprinkles to create a delicious sweet treat everyone is sure to love.

Equipment

  • Black and white striped straws optional

Instructions

  • Heat the butter in a large stock pot over medium low heat.
  • When the butter is melted, add the marshmallows and stir until the marshmallows are melted.
  • Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cereal. Continue stirring until all the cereal is coated in marshmallows.
  • Spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and spread the cereal mixture evenly in the pan. Press the cereal into the pan until it’s solid. Allow to cool for at least 2 hours.
  • When the bars are cool, cut them into 30 small squares.
  • Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag and drizzle the chocolate over the top of each square. Immediately top with sprinkles.
  • Allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.
