Natural Easter Egg Dye with Black Tea

Instructions

Step One: Make the Tea

  • Pour the boiling water into a large bowl and add the tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for at least 10 minutes, then remove the bags from the water. Squeeze each bag into the water to remove the extra liquid from the bag, then discard them.

Step Two: Dye the Eggs

  • Pour the vinegar into the bowl with the tea and stir to mix it in. Then, place the eggs in the bowl. Depending on the size of the bowl, you can dye up to 12 eggs with one batch of black tea. Allow the eggs to soak in the tea until your desired color is reached. I left our eggs to soak for 8 hours.

Step Three: Allow the Eggs to Dry

  • When you’re satisfied with the color of your Easter eggs, carefully remove them from the tea and transfer them to a paper towel to dry.
