Homemade Almond Milk in the Instant Pot

Store-bought almond milk is a great way to enjoy milk with fewer carbs. But it can be difficult to know how those milks are made or what unnecessary ingredients are included in the recipes. Luckily, it’s simple to make your own homemade almond milk if you have a pressure cooker at home. This quick and easy Instant Pot recipe can be made in under 30 minutes!

  • Pressure Cooker

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raw almonds
  • 6 cups water for instant pot
  • 5 cups water for blending
  • 1-3 teaspoons honey optional

Instructions

  • Place almonds and 6 cups of water into the instant pot. Close lid and seal pressure valve. Cook on high pressure for 3 minutes. Manually release pressure when done.
  • Drain and rinse almonds. Remove the skins by pinching the almonds out of them.
  • Place skinned almonds in blender with 5 cups of water and blend until it resembles milk. Add sweetener to taste.
  • Pour blender over cheese cloth. Make sure you have a bowl to catch the milk. Squeeze cheese cloth until no more milk is extracted.
