Grinch Brownies with Green Ganache Frosting

Ingredients

For the Brownies:

For the Ganache:

  • 12 ounces high quality white chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • Green food coloring
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

To Make the Brownies:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees degrees.
  • Line a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray.
  • Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, salt, whole eggs and yolks in a large bowl.
  • Melt the butter and chocolate in a double boiler, then whisk together until fully combined.
  • Whisk in the vegetable oil.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture into the sugar mixture and mix until fully combined. Gently fold in the flour and cocoa.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Then, press the Oreos into the batter, spacing evenly so that when the brownies are cut, there is an Oreo in each one.
  • Bake brownies until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 30 to 35 minutes.

To Make the Ganache:

  • Place the white chocolate into a medium-sized, bowl and set aside.
  • In a medium saucepan heat your heavy cream until it just comes to a simmer, do not boil.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 3 minutes.
  • Stir to combine and melt the white chocolate chips.
  • Once white chocolate is melted and smooth, add the green food coloring a little at a time until your reach your desired "Grinchy" green.
  • Pour white chocolate mixture over the top of the brownies and spread out with a knife.
  • Sprinkle with red heart sprinkles.
  • Let the the brownies cool and the ganache to set.
  • Slice into 12 squares and serve!
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, if they last that long!
