Baked French Onion Soup Dip

Ingredients

  • 3 medium size yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1 teaspoon chopped thyme
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Peel and slice onions. Heat a skillet on medium heat, melt butter then add onions. Cook for 2 minutes then add garlic cloves, salt and pepper. Cook for another 3 minutes.
  • Now add chicken broth, parsley and thyme. Cook until onion caramelized while stirring, 3-5 more minutes.
  • Remove from the stove, sprinkle ¼ of the cheese on top and stir. Sprinkle with the rest of the cheese. Transfer in the oven and bake until the cheese melted. About 8 minutes.
  • Serve with toast.
