Some Great Ways to Use Technology to Get Healthy

Fitness

When it comes to fitness there is a never-ending realm of applications and technologies that have been designed to make your workout better and more productive. Of course, fitness and technology have always gone hand in hand, from the early days of workout videos to treadmills and the like. However, our focus here is going to be on the applications that you can use to supplement your training.

There are so many apps that claim to help with your fitness that it can be hard where to start. Well, rather than telling you the perfect app for you, we are going to look at what you should be asking of an app. Depending on what kind of exercise person you are, there are different styles of application that will assist you. For people who are new to the world of fitness then you might want a step-by-step guide type of product. In fact, a good place to start is by looking up YouTube channels to learn what routines and exercises there are for you to do.

Those of you who are looking to advance your current routine might want to invest your time in something that looks at specific muscle groups rather than a general fitness plan. In addition, you can find apps that aim to improve your performance such as getting you to run 10k faster or improving your form in the weights section.

Food

In much the same way as the fitness apps, there are hundreds if not thousands of applications that claim to be able to help you get your diet in order. However, where our advice is going to differ on this front is by asking not what the app claims to do for you, but what its user say it actually does.

The good thing about downloading applications is that there should be collections of active users who are able to tell you what it is good at and bad for. The reason this is important with diet apps is that making claims about food based changes and weight loss are common, but they aren't always accurate. For example, these Noom reviews give you a detailed breakdown of what to expect. This means you know going in if its approach is the right one for you, potentially saving you from spending money or giving you the confidence to dive straight in.

  3. I have a love hate relationship with food apps-they get me too obsessed. I do like Strava and right now I am obsessed with Peloton and all of the classes.
  4. I love that there are so many different apps, especially free apps, available to help us with our health and fitness goals! I use a few different apps to help me - Weight Watchers, Peloton, Gixo, Fitbit - just to name a few.
  5. I personally feel a lot of apps really aren't accurate when they promise big changes. I do like tracking my sleep with Garmin, water intake with waterlogged and my workouts with my apple watch.
