Can You Make a Frozen Mimosa Ahead of Time?
When blending your mimosa ingredients with ice, you'll need to enjoy it right away. The longer you wait to serve your frozen drink, the more likely it is to melt. This will cause the mimosa to become watered down and tasteless. That's why it's not recommended that you prepare the frozen drinks in advance.
If you want to have the ingredients ready to go, try mixing the orange juice and sparkling wine together. Store the mixture in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve your drinks. That way, the ingredients are chilled and ready to be blended right away!
How Do I Get the Right Consistency When Making a Frozen Cocktail?
Using your blender to create a delicious frozen cocktail isn't always easy. That's why it's important that you have a high-powered blender on hand designed for crushing ice with ease. After that, it's all about finding the right balance of ingredients.
- Add sugar for a smoother blend. If you find your drink is still filled with ice chunks, even after thoroughly blending, try adding some sugar. A tablespoon of white granulated sugar will help keep the ice from seizing up as you blend.
- Add more liquid if it's hard to drink. If you find that your frozen mimosa is too thick to drink, simply add more orange juice to the blender. Start with ¼ cup and add more, as needed. Blend after each addition until your cocktail is drinkable.
- Add more ice if the cocktail is too thin. If your frozen cocktail is too watery, you can easily thicken it with the addition of more ice. Start by adding a handful of cubes, then blend. Add more, as needed, until the cocktail is thick enough for you.

Can I Make Frozen Mimosas for a Crowd?
This simple recipe makes enough mimosa mix for two servings. If you want to blend up a big batch of the cocktail, simply adjust the measurements according to the amount of people you'll be serving. For example, if you plan to serve 10 guests, just multiply the ingredient amounts by 5.
For 10 servings, combine:
- 2 ½ cups orange juice
- 2 ½ cups sparkling wine
- 10 cups ice

- Add orange zest for more flavor. This blended drink has a mild flavor thanks to the use of simple ingredients. But if you want your mimosa to pack more of a punch, try adding some orange zest to the blender before mixing.
- Freeze the orange juice into ice cubes. Another way to add even more orange flavor to your frozen cocktail is with some orange juice ice cubes. Pour the orange juice into an ice cube try and freeze them solid. Then, add the frozen juice to the blender with the sparkling wine and fresh juice.
- Try different fruit juices. While orange juice is the classic option when making mimosas, there are a variety of other juices you can use to make your own frozen cocktails. Try swapping out the orange juice for pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, or even lemonade.
- Mix in some other fruit. Take the flavor of your frozen cocktails to another level with the help of fresh fruit! Try tossing in some fresh or frozen strawberries, blueberries, bananas, or pineapple to create a delicious frozen drink.
- Make it a mocktail. Let the kids get in on the fun of drinking their own frozen mimosas by swapping the sparkling wine for sparkling juice or sparkling cider.

Notes
• If you add more liquid to the mixture without counteracting with more ice, you’re going to end up with a very thin drink. If that’s what you’re going for, do your thing, however, if you want a real icee feel, the current recipe ratio is perfect.
• I use orange juice with no pulp because this is my preference. However, if you like the pulp, feel free to swap it out.
• You can use any sparkling wine you prefer, it doesn’t have to be the same brand I used.
